SPA - History
A legendary fount of religion and spirituality, Narendra Nagar, was chosen by Maharaja Narendra Shah to house the palace of Tehri Garhwal. In time, the regal corridors of the palace echoed with the footsteps of distinguished guests. Late Lal Bahadur Shastri and Late Mrs. Indira Gandhi - Prime Ministers of India. Spiritual leaders like Anandmai Ma and Swami Sevanand, as well as the last British Viceroy of India - Lord Louis Mountbatten. In 1947, when India gained independence, the kingdom of Tehri Garhwal was merged with the state of Uttar Pradesh.

SPA - Climate
Narendra Nagar has a moderate climate throughout the year. The ambient temperatures are pleasant throughout the year except during a brief period in winter (Dec 15 - Jan 15) when it drops it drops to 6° Centigrade (43° Fahrenheit) at night. Located at an altitude of 3,000 feet (1000 metres), the invigorating ozone rich air is perfumed by wild flower blossoms.
