One of the major attractions in the church is the archeological museum. You must check out the prehistoric items from a distant tribal past as also reminders of Goa Dourada or Golden Goa. The Church of St. Cajatan is another architectural wonder worth visiting in Goa. The structure of the Church of St. Cajatan is based on the St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. An Italian architect designed the church in 1651. Now, there is a theological college in the church.

One of the oldest churches in Goa is the Church of Our Lady of Rosary in Velha Goa or Old Goa. Atop the Holy Hill the church is another must visit while holidaying in Goa. In the capital city of Goa Panaji the oldest church is dedicated to Our Lady of Immaculate Conception. The huge Convent of Santa Monica, dating back to 1606, was the first Nunnery in Asia.
