The Palace on Wheels offers this luxurious experience to tourists and carries them back to a royal time on its journey across Rajasthan and parts of North India.
The brand-new Palace on Wheels, inspired by the royal coaches of the Kings and Princes of India, consists of 13 saloon cars equipped with a range of comforts. There is a kitchen car, which has 2 restaurants and there are 4 service cars where the staff on the train are accommodated. The bearers are trained to the highest standards of international hospitality, while retaining a traditional Rajasthani touch in their attire.

Each of the 14 air-conditioned coaches of the Palace on Wheels is named after a princely state. The interior decoration of the Palace on Wheels reflects the royal ambience of each state.
The coaches on the Palace on Wheels have living accommodation, a lounge and a pantry. The lounge has color television, CD Players and a small library. Guest can stay in cabins that accommodate 2 people each. The cabins have attached toilets with all conveniences. Intercom and channel music add to the comforts of the guest on this royal train. The pantry serves food and drink to guests in each coach of the Palace on Wheels.
The kitchen car of the Palace on Wheels has 2 restaurants called "Maharaja" and "Maharani," which serve traditional Rajasthani, Indian, Continental and Chinese food, as well as beverages from around the world.
