Agra is connected to New Delhi by national and private airlines. The flight is just a 35-minutes hop from Delhi which continues onwards to Khujuraho and Varanasi. Kheria airport at Agra is located 6 km from downtown Sadar Bazaar. Taxis and auto-rickshaws are available at the airport.

Agra by Road For those planning a road journey, the city of Taj is connected by a network of roads. Agra is situated on the cross roads of NH-2, 3 and 11. The national highway is 4-lane double carriageway.
Buses also ply to Agra from all major cities such as Delhi, Bharatpur, Lucknow, Mathura, Nainital, Varanasi, Khajuraho, Jaipur, Gwalior, Jhansi and so on. Idgah Bus Stand is the main bus terminal at Agra. Buses are less expensive compared to train and air journey. A host of rest houses and catering facilities are available en route.
Agra by Rail
Well connected by railways, Agra has several railway stations such as Agra Cantonment, Idgah, Agra Fort, Yamuna Bridge, Agra city and Raja Ki Mandi. The main railway station is Agra Cantonment.
There are trains that daily run via Agra from Delhi, Varanasi and cities of Rajasthan. Palace on Wheel, Shatabdi and Rajdhani trains are some luxury choices to reach Agra. Other important trains include Intercity Express, Taj Express, GI Express, Jhelum Express, Toofan Express, Kalinga Utkal, Karnataka Express, Ujjain Express, Hyderabad Express, Dadar Express and many more. The fastest train between Delhi and Agra is daily run Shatabdi Express which takes 2 hours to Agra.
Different modes of transport are available to move in and around Agra. Taxi, auto-rickshaw and cycle rickshaw are available in good number around the Taj Mahal complex. No diesel or petrol vehicles are allowed to ply in the Taj Mahal area to conserve the beauty of this great monument. Only pollution free battery-operated vehicles, horse-driven tongas and rickshaws are allowed.
